Bishopbriggs surgery lays groundwork for expansion

A Bishopbriggs medical practice is seeking urgent additional consultation spaces to meet the needs of a fast-growing population in East Dunbartonshire.
Kenmure Medical Practice on Springfield Road proposes to extend their present premises to increase GP and primary care capacity with three additional consultation rooms.
The proposed single-storey extension by S2 Architecture adopts two small 'pyramid' roofs similar to the existing surgery with tall box frame windows forming a civic frontage to the street.
In a project overview, S2 wrote: "With an increasing population within the local East Dunbartonshire area, there is an urgent need for additional consultation space to provide healthcare services. Kenmure Medical Practice has an expanding team to support their expanding patient list, but currently have insufficient space within their existing premises to deliver efficient GP and primary care service to their patients."
A stone boundary wall will be realigned to open up the existing pavement and add prominence to the extension.
An internal access corridor will be routed through an existing nurses room
The practice is located a short walk from Bishopbriggs railway station
