Revised application for BBC site
October 23 2008
Applecross have submitted a revised planning application for CDA’s mixed use scheme at Queen Margaret Drive in Glasgow’s west end. Formerly occupied by the BBC, the A-listed North Park House and Honeyman and Keppie anatomy buildings will be converted to an 85 bed hotel and leisure facilities, the remainder of the site being cleared for flats and 4 townhomes.Under the revised plans the total volume of flats will be reduced from 185 to 155 with a corresponding reduction in site massing and footprint.
A central boulevard with courtyards above 2 levels of underground parking contributes to extensive landscaping around clearly defined streetscape.
The development will be composed predominantly of buff ashlar stone with silver grey cladding, white render and dark grey timber windows.
