Replacement green belt Aberdeen home goes large

Plans for a replacement dwelling in the Bieldside area of Aberdeen have been brought forward which will see the existing property demolished.

Fiddes Architects propose a new build home complete with a detached garage and gym as a like for like replacement in the suburban green belt.

Working with the established footprint the scheme will retain the current access and driveway with the H-plan home comprising a double-height bedroom wing connected to a single storey combined living, dining and kitchen area connected by a glazed link.

In a statement, the architects said: "The current proposal occupies the same site as the building to be replaced and the proposed design, while the replacement house provides a greater floor area, the scale and mass remain largely the same and are more visually appealing.

"A staggered linear plan provides necessary accommodation and living spaces in relation to the sites aspect whilst keeping the building footprint to a minimum."

The property will be finished in minimalist black thermopine cladding with areas of Siberian Larch under a corrugated steel and slate roof.
