Dennistoun apartments promote inner city living

Home Group have announced the arrival of 252 homes for mid-market rent on the site of Glasgow's B-listed former Meat Market with the release of new images showcasing what to expect.

New hoardings have been erected around the inner-city site as the first steelwork emerges on the collection of one and two-bedroom flats. Scheduled for occupation from 2022 with full completion by 2023 the urban renewal project will deliver a variety of outdoor and community space when complete.

Spanning a 1.5-hectare site bounded by Duke Street and Bellgrove Street the build forms part of a masterplan for the area to bring vacant land back into use.

Incorporating expressed metal elements and panels in a nod to the metal frame and facade of the meat market sheds the properties will frame rear courtyards and a central avenue oriented upon the former Eastern District Hospital.

Delivered by CCG to designs by JTP the scheme commenced development back in March.

Has a bit of scale and presence -- on the way to being quality filler.

The next step on Duke's Street is to tidy up the area next to the brewery.

Why can't all new tenement builds be done like this.
