British hotel stores
October 13 2008
High Street retailer Bhs is expanding into the hotels trade by requisitioning redundant upper floors of its Princes Street flagship for guest rooms and facilities. The property benefits from expansive views across a host of Edinburgh landmarks, making its mooted 100 rooms a prize catch for a clutch of potential operators.
None of the existing building will be demolished and the store will remain open for business throughout.
The plans follow an application by Deramore property Group for a new hotel at 121 Princes Street.
