Giant distribution warehouse & offices prepped for Robroyston
June 8 2021
HarperCollins Publishers have trailed plans to erect a giant distribution warehouse at the Nova Business Park in Robroyston, Glasgow.
A 45-acre site off junction 2 of the M80 has been selected for the purpose-built hub, which will accommodate 500 people across editorial, distribution and support relocated from Bishopbriggs.
Comprising primarily of a storage and distribution warehouse the scheme will also accommodate ancillary offices, a vehicle depot and SUDS ponds.
Developed by Tritax Symmetry, specialists in 'big box' logistics, Symmetry Park will sit within a landscape framework defined by retained woodland to the south and west as well as areas of established wetland 'where possible'.
Comments concerning the application are invited at a digital exhibition and should be received no later than 17 June with a formal planning application expected in July.

We would now call that a sustainable green travel plan. This site looks ready made for a car borne workforce. isn’t that great?
That being said it's still a bit of an incongruous whopper!

They are going to need bigger trees to hide it from the M80.
Would have been better to keep the site as a business park but whoever owned it struggled to make it work.
The big box shed is a blot on the landscape -- hard to believe but they have managed it.
