Garnock Visitor & Community Hub breaks ground

North Ayrshire Council has signed off a £4.2m construction contract to build a new visitor and community hub in the Garnock Valley.

Designed by Collective Architecture the Garnock Hub will be delivered by contractor CCG via Hub South West as part of a design team that includes include TCS Construction Consultants, David Narro Associates, Clancy Consultants and Hirst Landscape Architects.

Located adjacent to Kilbirnie Loch the hub will include facilities for Garnock Rugby Club as well as a public cafe, community room and office.

Jonita Karablikova, project architect at Collective Architecture, said: “It is a great opportunity and pleasure to work in collaboration with North Ayrshire Council, hub South West and the CCG team in creating, designing and delivering an exemplary facility and a destination focusing on the health and wellbeing of the local and wider community. The building offers a warm, refined welcome for visitors and locals alike, providing a base for outdoor activities and events within the parkland.”

Work on the ground began in March with completion expected by autumn 2022.

£4.2mill build cost -- somebody is having a laugh.

You should be able to get a primary school for that sort of money.

Also I hope it lasts longer than the rugby clubhouse -- 15 years it lasted before it was condemned.
