Sutherland Hussey Architects
April 7 2006
Sutherland Hussey Architects has just completed a feasibility study for a new harbour on the Isle of Skye. The development in Portree includes RNLI launch facilities and visitor centre, a diaspora museum, a RSPB mega hide and a new home for the An Tuireann Arts Centre. The Portree Regeneration Partnership believes the proposal will help transform the area into a leading tourist centre. An application has been submitted to the Big Lottery ‘Living Landmarks’ scheme, a new scheme created by amalgamating the new opportunities fund and the communities’ fund. The Big Lottery gives large grants to major regeneration projects and one extremely large grant to a single project that is voted for by the public in a Big Brother-style interactive TV show.
