Lewis Capaldi's Eaglesham farmhouse extension is a hit with planners
February 17 2021
Renfrewshire Council has handed the all-clear to singer Lewis Capaldi to proceed with an expansion of his Eaglesham home.
Works to be undertaken by Ewan Cameron Architects include the erection of two new extensions alongside internal modifications to the main farmhouse.
These centre on an open-plan entertaining space and feature fireplace opening onto a landscaped terrace, achieved by extending out over the footprint of an old conservatory.
A former stable block and garage will also be converted into a private gym and shower facilities, integrated within the main body of the home by a new access corridor opening onto an interior courtyard.
A reconfigured interior will also permit the creation of a cinema and media room.

He's an advocate of all things homeopathic and was the first transman in Scotland to be awarded the Margo Steinman Award for his work in the promotion of architectural education for children in Morningside.
He's a child of privilege though, having inherited three of the seven most profitable ice cream van routes in North Airdrie.
I assume the fitness suite/sauna and squash court will follow in the phase 2 design!!
