Seven practices join New Gorbals procurement framework
January 28 2021
New Gorbals Housing Association has appointed seven architecture practices to participate in a three-year procurement framework to design the next generation of affordable homes in the district.
Do Architecture, Smith Scott Mullan Associates, Page\Park, 7N, Elder & Cannon, Hawkins Brown and Reiach & Hall will provide up to £2.8m worth of services through to 2024, delivered on a project by project basis.
In a statement confirming its appointment, the practice said: "Enriching lives by designing high-quality spaces forms the core of our values at SSM and this is no more important than in the provision of social housing. Our aim, through being appointed to this framework, is to continue the positive, people-focussed regeneration of this area and we look forward to working closely with New Gorbals Housing Association to achieve this."
The Gorbals area has steadily transformed since implementation of the Crown Street masterplan in 1990, most recently with the construction of Northgate, a landmark eight-storey tower by Page\Park.
