Dunbartonshire opens gate to business
September 24 2008
Lomondgate, a £60million roadside business park, is poised to commence construction this November following infrastructure improvements and pre-lets to BBC Scotland, Whitbread and Tesco.Scottish Enterprise Dunbartonshire and West Dunbartonshire Council will oversee the development under the auspices of the non profit-making Strathleven Regeneration Company who are working in partnership with Diageo, the site’s former owners and several housebuilders including the Walker Group.
The wider masterplan area will accommodate a 60-bed Premier Inn hotel and a Brewers Fayre family pub and restaurant. An additional 30 acres of land will provide around 300 homes.
This follows a roads upgrade and traffic management along the A82, including completion of the Lomondgate roundabout. These measures will facilitate development on the site, largely occupied by the former J&B whisky bottling plant.
