Rangers fan zone to mark club's 150th anniversary
August 31 2020
Rangers Football Club has brought forward plans to erect a purpose-built fan zone, incorporating a club museum, cafe, venue and retail over two floors.
Replacing the current Edmiston House the facility is intended to provide a pre and post-match experience for fans while providing an all-year events space for up to 1,300 people.
Managing director, Stewart Robertson, said: "The demolition of the existing Edmiston House this autumn permits the re-orientation of the new building towards the axis of the stadium, and closer to Edmiston Drive.
"We ensured the building was designed to complement, but not compete with, our iconic stadium. The internals on the ground floor can be easily adapted, and the spaces can accommodate many types of functions and events."
Rangers are working to ensure that the venue will be up and running by the first half of 2022, in time for the club's 150th anniversary.

Agree #2. How can a company that’s only 8 years old celebrate a 150th anniversary? 150 months maybe? Maybe this magpie entity will survive 10yrs IAR
Or maybe it will take 142 years to raise the funding :)
Ricky McyD got pelters on his last foray into sevcoworld politics - anti social media if you will - and we'll not see him here. Although he might be no1#...I
#8 so anything's better then chernobix?
However the design is disappointing, especially when you consider the recent Albion housing concept. It took account of context in terms of materiality and referenced language of the historic main stand. That had time and thought spent on it.
A bland grey box is a bland grey box no matter the wallpaper you stick on it. Totally uninspiring from Keppie given the potential here.
