Hall of light
September 18 2008
DO-Architecture will unveil a dramatic installation at the Maryhill Burgh Halls this evening, that promises to show the historic Halls in a new light. The work forms part of the ongoing re-modelling of the building by JM Architects for the Maryhill Burgh Halls Trust.DO’s Adrian Stewart said: “The completed building project will return the original hall to use while gathering new community facilities around a central courtyard.
”The illumination on the Maryhill elevation of the main hall makes reference to the colour selection, form and composition of the original Stephen Adam stained glass panels, which form part of the building's heritage.”
The formal switch on occurs this evening, Thursday September 18 at 8pm, by the Lord Provost, Bob Winter.
