Shawlands townhouse conversion plan tweaked

Holmes Miller Architects are to formalise the ad-hoc conversion of seven townhouses at 10-22 Camphill Avenue, Glasgow, with a full programme of restoration to create a variety of one and two-bedroom flats.

Acting on behalf of Kelvin Properties the architects will introduce off-street parking within back gardens accessible of an existing lane accessible from Langside Avenue.

All dormer windows will be removed and reinstated more harmoniously, with all original ironwork repaired and stonework cleaned, repaired and repointed.

Furthermore, all window sashes will be replaced in their existing case frames with new double glazing units.

A resubmission of a previously refused scheme the latest proposals eschew the creation of three mews properties and pull back car parking from the site boundary to preserve a bank of mature trees.

It wouldn't take much to add roof dormers that are more in keeping with the character of the townhouses.
