Summer start for 750-home Ayr masterplan
June 10 2020
A major residential-led masterplan in Ayr has been given a jumpstart following the appointment of Dougall Baillie Associates to design access and engineering works for up to 750 homes.
Led by Allanvale Land Investments the masterplan will expand the town to the south-east near Ayr Hospital, with consent already in place for a mix of commercial, community and retail uses.
Work is expected to get underway this summer on a new footbridge spanning the A77 as well as junction improvements and access roads to facilitate development.
Stuart Harrow, transportation director at DBA, said: “Corton is a transformative development, representing the first phase of a larger, long term Strategic Expansion Site which could eventually feature up to 2700 new homes.
“Major residential developers have expressed keen interest in being part of the project and the current developers have identified great potential in what is a vibrant area in which to live and work.”

Same old masterplan. With the playing fields and primary school right next to the A77 trunk road. Great masterplanning ...not.

Would suggest that satnav is included in the sales package of the houses. This layout doesn’t take cognisance of place making, it is the beginning of a vast unserviced suburban sprawl.
