Leith comes to life as colony living reaches Victoria Dock
June 8 2020
CALA Homes have resumed a marketing drive for Waterfront Plaza, a collection of flats and colony-style townhouses arranged in parallel with Victoria Dock, Leith.
With a new sense of optimism, the developer is pressing ahead with a showhome for launch as early as late summer, although it is likely to be available for remote viewing only until lockdown restrictions ease.
Sales director Philip Hogg commented: “There is a real community building at Waterfront Plaza – and that is owing in part to the brilliant range of apartments and homes, attracting a diverse range of buyers.
“We’ve already seen the sell-out success of the colony apartments and duplexes – a style of home intrinsic to Edinburgh.
“These townhouses are again so familiar to the city. Yet our design teams have been able to build on everything we love with traditional townhouses; that sense of height, large windows and grand hallways – with modern twists throughout including a first-floor private terrace to reflect how we live now.”

Working with EMA Architecture and Design the developer is already onsite with 97 affordable homes as part of the development. A sales office on Ocean Drive has been earmarked for future retail upon completion.
