Leith car showroom set for retail and homes
A former car showroom and garage in Leith has found itself as a target for mixed residential and retail redevelopment in a new planning application authored by 56three Architects.

Land off 120 Ferry Road has been earmarked for the work, which will remove later industrial additions to the garden of a Georgian townhouse.

Under the plans, the existing showroom will be repurposed as a 4,000sq/ft convenience store, with two apartments to stand in the floors above. Finished in natural stone, dark grey cladding and white render.

In a statement, the applicant wrote: "Given the nature of the proposed mixed-use development, there is no external amenity provided, although there is provision for sedum green roofs on the convenience store to improve the visual outlook from the apartments."

The plans supercede a prior consent to demolish the garage and build three flats in its place.
The current garage and frontage was formed sometime around the 1960s
