Mixed-use neighbourhood centre planned for Polmont

Property company Hansteen has lodged a proposal of application notice wit Falkirk Council to erect a mixed-use development on land to the east of Gilston Farm, Polmont.
The 55.6-hectare Gilston Park site lies adjacent to the M9 and has been allocated for a mix of 500 homes, a neighbourhood centre of retail and services along with business space built around a central open space and water park designed to provide amenity space while providing an outlet for floodwaters in likely climate change modelling scenarios.
Associated infrastructure would include a green network of paths and cycleways as well as sports pitches.
Ken Haldane, a consultant for Hansteen said: “We are delighted to be bringing forward our exciting proposals for the site, which will serve to deliver much-needed housing in the area. In addition to housing and employment uses, we are keen to get the views of the public and hear what they would like to see in terms of potential community uses.”
An interactive web-based consultation will take place on 24 June between 1300 and 2000 as part of a temporary suspension of public consultation events.
