Port Dundas flats to bolster canal links
April 29 2020
Convery Prenty Architects are leading a bid to erect 37 apartments at Port Dundas on behalf of Craighall Developments.
Located on High Craighall Road at the entrance to Craighall Business Park the proposal will be split between two blocks of five and six storeys surrounded by new public amenity and conjoined by a through access path.
Steep topography will permit undercroft parking to be accommodated with a feature concrete stair offering resident access to Craighall Road at the rear.
Where this meets the street a paved junction and pedestrian crossing will provide direct access to an existing ramped pedestrian route to the Forth & Clyde Canal, utilising a former slipway.
Elevations will comprise a mix of red and grey brick with zinc wall cladding and decorative precast concrete panels. Apartments will also benefit from private west facing terraces.
The project would join a further 68 flats proposed separately further along Craighall Road.
