200 homes envisioned for Gretna golf course
April 9 2020
A Gretna golf course could play host to 200 new homes following a detailed application to develop the 28.5-acre site by Alba Developments and EMA Architecture & Design.
Planning in principle is already in place for just such a development, plugging into the existing amenity of the town, with 20% of the homes classed as affordable.
A variety of house types are envisaged for the project including bungalows, terraces and detached houses served by new green spaces, a cycle path and footpaths.
Shane Ticklepenny, managing director from Alba Developments commented: “We are excited to see things moving after having submitted the detailed planning application for our Gretna development to the council. This site will help the local area and bring much-needed family and affordable homes to the area.
“We are very proud of our plans at Gretna and hope it will inject new life to the village. Our investment will bring an economic boost and attract new families to the area.”
Situated on the western edge of Gretna the development will stretch from the B721 in the north to Loanwath Road in the south, around 15min walk from Gretna Green Station.
