Stirling care home addresses shifting demographics

A disused bowling green and grounds in Stirling has been chosen for the location of a new residential care home by Morrison Community Care.

Livilands Care Home has been designed by Holmes Miller Architects to provide accommodation on Randolph Road in the St Ninians area of the city while maximising amenity space and views to the Ochil Hills.

The two-storey build seeks to complement the residential character of the surrounding area through a palette of buff blockwork and render with dark grey vertical weather boarding to the top floor.

In a statement the architects wrote: “It is proposed to use a limited palette of high-quality materials
throughout the external fabric of the building. The materials have been carefully chosen to ensure the proposed development compliments the context it sits within.”

Small putting and bowling green will also be situated to the south of the development to minimise overshadowing.

Give me Osprey Heights any day Victor. Thon place looks like a prison camp, miles from the Clansman and one stop from the crematorium. Do you know what’s in their pies? Old people.
