Forresterhill Elective Care Centre moves forward
June 24 2019
NHS Grampian has filed a proposal of application to notice to build a £52m Elective Care Centre within Aberdeen’s Forresterhill campus.
Plans by Mackie Ramsay Taylor Architects extend to a new build block and the reconfiguration of existing space to improve capacity.
In its report, NHS Grampian wrote: “The proposal will create new, and reconfigure existing, facilities which will also provide an opportunity to deliver services differently and implement better ways of working.
“Some of these service changes will deliver efficiencies, however, overall operating costs will rise partly as a consequence of increased staffing levels necessary to operate within the enhanced facilities.”
Construction could get underway from the second quarter of 2020 for completion by the end of 2021 as part of a £314m estate masterplan.
