Architecture Fringe detail 2019 events programme
April 23 2019
Architecture Fringe is to launch its 2019 programme on 3 May after an open call for contributors drew over 80 submissions.
In Real Life (IRL) will see Fringe producers set up residence in Glasgow’s Lighthouse throughout the month of June during which the team will oversee a raft of exhibitions, events and a raucous launch party as part of their takeover.
The centre for art and design will serve as a hub for a series of nationwide talks, installations and performances which will take place concurrently throughout the month – led by a keynote lecture delivered by Peter Barber.
Other highlights of this year’s programme are set to include an exploration of Glasgow’s queer club scene and an investigation documenting the adaptive re-use of buildings with participation from practices including Ann Nisbet Studio and You + Pea.
Other standouts include a discussion on contemporary land activism by broadcaster Lesley Riddoch and an exploration of chance encounters, love and the Doric dialect by Morag Myerscough.
The Architecture Fringe 2019 will take place from 8-24 June.
