Bannockburn urban expansion to form South Stirling Gateway
January 22 2019
Housebuilders Persimmon and Tulloch have joined forces to deliver a 214-home masterplan (25% of which will be classed as affordable) to the south west of Bannockburn, centred on a village shop and green.
South Stirling Gateway stretches across 37 hectares of land to the south of the city along the Bannock Burn with potential for a primary school to be delivered at a later date, opening onto the central green space.
EMA Architects & Masterplanners have undertaken the masterplan for the site with the intention of creating homes that are traditional in form which are ‘complementary to the traditional style of architecture found in Bannockburn and Stirling.’
In a statement they wrote: “The form of the buildings within each individual residential block will create development pockets which will have a varied roof scape and building line. This will help to create interest along the streetscape and help to break up and minimise long lengths of housing.”
Higher density flats will be situated around the village green surrounded by low density housing.
