49 homes outlined in Hogganfeld Loch masterplan

Yeoman McAllister Architects are fronting a brownfield bid to deliver 49 homes on 1.6 hectares of land near Hogganfield Loch, Glasgow, on the site of a former DIY store.
Upping density along Cumbernauld Road the masterplan would include a mix of cottage flats and terraced housing, dropping down to semi-detached and detached homes to the west.
In a design statement the practice wrote: “The urban grain of the area is predominantly detached and semi-detached housing. Therefore the proposals are similar in terms of planning and urban design. The design solution maximises density by placing units on the outer edge, create a street frontage along the A80 / Cumbernauld Rd, take advantage of the sunlight path, and introduce surveillance of the amenity open green space.”
The proposed development density stands at 30 homes per hectare and would stand alongside Lochside View by JM Architects.
