Velux seize window of opportunity in Glenrothes
October 8 2018
Velux has partnered with Sinclair Watt Architects to bring forward a £7m expansion of its head office at Woodside Way in Glenrothes, Fife.
A custom 3,500m extension will include a customer service centre, training facilities, office space, meeting rooms and a staff restaurant all bathed in light supplied by no less than 200 individual windows chosen to showcase the company’s modular skylight system, flat roof windows and sun tunnels.
Mick Schou Rasmussen, managing director of Velux UK and Ireland, said: “Once completed, the new building will provide our existing employees with a much-improved working environment and accommodate any increase in headcount in the future. The new building has also allowed us to decrease our estate’s footprint by selling off a number of vacant buildings to growing local businesses, in turn boosting the local economy.”
Contractor ISG has already begun work on the extension which is expected to be delivered by autumn 2019.
