Virginia Galleries joins up Merchant City
July 29 2008
Steelwork at ZM Architects Virginia Galleries developed by Credential Holdings has now been completed. The development will create a new retail opportunity in the heart of the Merchant City and provide 37 new homes.A new stone façade to Virginia Street melds with adjoining Victorian proportions and echoes the original Grade A listed Virginia Galleries which collapsed in 2003. More expressive architecture behind encloses a gated, cobbled courtyard containing shops and leisure facilities. This forms an arcade linking Virginia St through to Miller St, creating an exciting new public realm space.
