The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland is pushing ahead with a 301-bed student accommodation build in Cowcaddens, Glasgow, after developer Soller Group struck a finance deal with Beaufort Capital Management to unlock the £35.5m project.
Construction is already underway on a mixture of en-suite shared flats and studio apartments the build will provide a sanctuary for young musicians, singers, actors and performers studying at the nearby institution, which is leasing around half of the bed spaces directly.
Located on Dunblane Street the Mosaic Architecture + Design prepared accommodation sits squarely between both RCS campus locations at Renfrew Street and Speirs Locks.
Professor Jeffrey Sharkey, principal of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, said: “This new development will allow our students to thrive and develop as artists and as citizens of the world. It’s of immeasurable benefit that our students have the right facilities to practice their art in their own environment to help them get the most from their studies, social lives and student experience.”
Completion is timetabled for August 2019.

This is a standard commercial development with little true Architectural merrit but that's only my opinion.
