Dundee estate renewal brings 130 new homes
July 4 2018
Hillcrest Housing Association and Collective Architecture have penned plans for 130 new build homes within Dundee’s Ellengowan Estate.
Located in the Springhill area of the city the mid-market rent development will retain a local shop while sweeping away homes dating from the 1920s which have been deemed no longer fit for purpose.
Hillcrest’s director of development and new business, David Zwirlein commented: “This is an exciting milestone in the journey to regenerate Ellengowan Estate. The central aim of the redevelopment is to offer a new home to existing residents who wish to remain living on the estate.
“If approved, the proposals outlined in this application will provide high quality, energy-efficient homes to current and future generations of Ellengowan residents.”
Subject to the necessary consents activity could move on-site by early 2019.
