Craigmillar town centre homes bring increased density
June 25 2018
CCG and Cooper Cromar are collaborating on the delivery of 136 new flats across five separate blocks on the site of a former Lidl supermarket at Niddrie Mains Road, Craigmillar.
Positioned to form active streetscapes with shared surfaces the scheme will be arranged around a central amenity space and landscaped ‘buffer zones’ of hedging and planting providing a physical barrier between homes and public areas.
In a statement Cooper Cromar wrote: “The development site while located within the local town centre is an inward-looking development and we have taken the view to create a neighbourhood with an open green space as the focal point of the design proposals with a feature gateway and centrally located four-storey blocks that provide identity and exploit wider contextual views of the city and Arthur’s Seat.”

Wow it's so groundbreaking, it's unlike anything I've ever seen before.
