Dunoon’s Queens Hall readied for summer reveal
May 29 2018
Argyll & Bute Council is to host its first public event on 28 July to mark the re-opening of Dunoon’s Queens Hall following its £12m renovation.
Closed for refurbishment since 2015 the venue has been subject to an extensive overhaul at the hands of contractor McLaughlin & Harvey.
Councillor Gary Mulvaney said: “I know the people of Dunoon will be very excited that this project is nearing completion and that they will have a wonderful Queens Hall open and available for use from July. The redevelopment of this historic building is the result of an ambitious and determined drive to create something truly special, and I have no doubt that residents of Dunoon and visitors to the town will be very impressed with what they see.”
Alterations include a new connection to Argyll Street and an upgrade of the main hall , in addition to a new learning centre and soft play space together with a relocated café. A public events space designed by ERZ is also planned to enliven the waterfront.
