Riverside Dalmarnock to bring Glasgow’s east end to life
May 21 2018
A major riverfront development has been launched by Glasgow City Council for 22 acres of former industrial land, with the promise of 562 mixed tenure homes.Riverside Dalmarnock has been prepared by Link Group and Laurel Homes to provide a mixture of flats and houses for sale and rent to designs by Hypostyle architects.
Council leader Susan Aitken remarked: “I am delighted to see the beginning of work at the Riverside Dalmarnock development, which will bring more than 500 homes that will play a key role in the ongoing regeneration of Dalmarnock. These homes are in a tremendous location beside the river Clyde, with good transport links to the city centre.”
In addition to housing a central green space bounded by terraced housing will take the form of a traditional ‘grand square’ with a riverside park expanding the current Clyde Walkway.
Building on the successful completion of the Commonwealth Games Village and Clyde Smart Bridge the scheme will be delivered in phases, the first of which should be available by summer 2019.

These images are from the inland components of the masterplan, away from the main riverfront blocks - this includes terraces, townhouses, mews properties.
These explicitly reference the Athlete's Village as inspiration and it was an express desire to carry that design forward here.
