£12.2m primary to serve as Newton Mearns ‘centrepiece’

East Renfrewshire Council has appointed a contractor to build a £12.2m primary and nursery school in Newton Mearn’s, within Glasgow’s south side.The BDP designed Maidenhill Primary will sit at the heart of a £150m development of 834 new homes being delivered by CALA and Taylor Wimpey.
Accommodating 444 primary school pupils and 120 nursery places in addition to a range of joint community facilities such as multi-use games hall and 3G pitch.
BAM regional director Bruce Dickson, commented: “Maidenhill Primary is the centrepiece of this new community and we are delighted to have again been selected by East Renfrewshire Council to deliver such a key project to unlocking the full potential of this area”.
BAM will move on-site next month in the expectation of handing over the new school in summer 2019.
