Aberdeenshire mansion brought back to life
A derelict Aberdeenshire mansion is to be brought back to its former glory developer FM Group now on-site to transform the mansion into a hotel.

WCP Architects have been brought on board to bring the B-listed Ury House, near Stonehaven, back to life as the centerpiece of a new Jack Nicklaus designed golf course.

In a statement confirming the scope of works WCP wrote: “The proposals involve restoring the original part of the Mansion House externally to its former glory with a simplified re-built design to the collapsed south section.

“Internally the mansion house will be fitted out to form a boutique hotel as a wedding and function venue with golf clubhouse facilities.”

Designed by Glaswegian John Baird in 1855 Ury had fallen into a state of ruination with the roof and floors lost, precipitating the collapse of the south gable.
