Haddington NHS out-patients department unveiled

Morrison Construction have completed delivery of a new out-patients department for NHS Lothian in Haddington, the first phase of a £70m masterplan for a new East Lothian Community Hospital on the site of the old Roodlands Hospital.Delivered in partnership with Hub South East the facility will offer cardiology, dental, eye and x-ray outpatient services, with attention now turning to the demolition of the former outpatient department now that staff have decanted.
Construction is already underway on the steel frame for new inpatient facilities and accommodation with the full hospital redevelopment timetabled to complete in 2020.
East Lothian Community Hospital is the largest project ever to be undertaken by Hub South East and will include 132 inpatient beds but no emergency department, minor injuries unit or acute mental health inpatient beds.
