March 26 2018
Barratt Homes have brought forward plans for three-storey townhouses in Cumbernauld as part of a wider development of detached housing at Auchenkilns, close to the M80.Marketed as an alternative choice for family living The Leven at Chapelton Rise includes an entrance lobby, open plan living room and separate dining space with integrated kitchen with four bedrooms arranged over two upper floors.
Estelle Sykes, sales director at Barratt West Scotland commented: “Having a third floor opens up a world of options for home buyers. You can go down the traditional route and transform this area into peaceful guest quarters or home offices separate from the family living area,or make this floor truly unique by re-purposing the area as a gym, home cinema or snooker room.”
Last month CALA introduced a similar townhouse range in Bearsden.

Urgh. Looks like a badly re-clad postwar housing scheme.

Looks like Cumbernauld is making a fightback against Aberdeen for the title

I see Barratt have dusted off their copy of 'Cumbernauld Housing 1972-78'.

215k for that, or a quarter of that!
"open plan living room and separate dining space with integrated kitchen" - Interesting description for a single room with a tiny kitchen jammed in the corner and a dining table you would have to move out the way to get to the sitting area...
It's pretty depressing
