Edinburgh villa makes way for townhouses

Greenstead Properties have come forward with their intent to demolish an unlisted house and detached garage at the junction of Queensferry and Cammo Road’s, Edinburgh, in order to erect six terraced townhouses.Designed by McLaren Murdoch & Hamilton the properties will sit within an area dominated by two-storey detached villas with each new home benefitting from its own garage and driveway.
In a statement the architects observed: “The external finishes will be white render with red roof tiles to tie inwith the surrounding properties. The existing stone boundary wall to Queensferry Road will be retained with the existing vehicular acce ss infilled with timber fencing. The stone wall will be altered to provide a gate to the rear pedestrian access.”
Obscure glass will be used to preserve privacy where necessary.
