Perth amenity housing project breaks ground
March 12 2018
CCG have broken ground on 24 amenity flats off Crieff Road in Perth as part of a commitment by Perth & Kinross Council’s new build council house programme.Due to complete in February of next year each two-bed flat will be earmarked for elderly occupants and brings a brownfield site back into productive use.
Perth & Kinross Council’s convener of housing and communities, councillor Peter Barrett, said: “It will deliver much-needed high quality accommodation on a site that has been derelict for a few years. The development will make a real difference to the lives of the tenants who move in, and it also improve the local environment considerably.”
CCG director Calum Murray added: “Like previously completed developments, we will be using our offsite manufactured timber frame system for the build. This system is manufactured with precision ensuring quality and reduction in long term maintenance for the council. It also offers a faster speed of build, minimising disruption to the local community, and with enhanced environmental performance, it will deliver savings on the future residents’ energy bills.”
CCG have previously delivered new social housing at Nimmo Avenue and Cairns Crescent within the city.

This visual is so poor, but sadly, likely reflects the architectural aspiration accurately. Maybe the bit purposely hidden behind the pixel tree is more considered. I suspect the CGI guy is a hatchback fan.

Have they taken inspiration from mid 1990's student accommodation?
Woeful.
Woeful.

Can the owner of the blue hatchback please refrain from parking on the pavement? Residents and guests are falling into the Great Void of Default Grey as they cannot access the pedestrian routes! This is your final warning.

May be amenity housing but not much wider amenity in the proposals.
