Keppie Design have marked completion of a new hospice in Singapore, designed in tandem with local practice New Space Architects as part of its push into Asia. The Assisi Hospice provides 85 beds for adult and paediatric care and is the first of a new wave of hospital buildings planned by the city state to enhance palliative care.
A new six storey building doubles the capacity of the previous hospice while offering a peaceful and dignified environment for patients, family and staff.
Keppie Design director, David Ross remarked: “It’s gratifying to see these projects being acknowledged and rewarded. Both were great to work on and the collaborative relationships formed with the local lead practices were very positive and enduring.”
Keppie were previously involved in the delivery of The Kampung Admiralty project with WOHA Architects that entailed integration of health facilities with a retirement housing complete with its own park, vegetable farm, auditorium, restaurants and retail.
