University of Dundee to expand human anatomy centre
October 11 2017
The University of Dundee is to push forward with a new extension and entrance pavilion at its Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification.Offering direct access from Dow Street to a teaching and public engagement facility the Wellwood Leslie scheme will see a single-storey pavilion built abutting a surface car park.
Internally the extension will offer a new display area for public engagement together with numerous internal alterations to the existing MSI building to facilitate the upgrade and expansion of teaching facilities.
This follows a campaign to build a new mortuary complete with specialised lifting equipment, chemical stores and embalming preparation areas.
Sitting on a plinth of blue slip bricks to match the existing mortuary the walls will be finished in white render below a flat single ply membrane roof.
