Modern India comes to modern Glasgow
Glasgow looks set to cement its reputation as curry capital of Britain with news that Modern India is to open the largest curry house the city has yet seen, serving some 300 covers.   Works on the site of the former Kelvin Park Lorne Hotel are scheduled to be complete by October.

Commenting on the development Modern India owner Archie Sharif said: "We will be good for the area and the location is a benefit.  Once open we will be able to compete with the city centre and West End hotels."

The £9 million redevelopment will see an additional four star boutique hotel created whilst the adjoining sixties era extension, long considered an eyesore, is reclad in reclaimed stone to match the neighbouring A listed exterior.

Equal consideration is to be applied to the interior with New Concept hired as outfitters for the restaurant and hotel with Oran Mor Designer Surfaces tackling the bathrooms.
