Portacabin wakeboarding centre set to dazzle Dundee
March 20 2017
Aim, acting on behalf of outdoor activity firm Foxlake Adventures, have drawn up plans for a wakeboarding centre at Dundee’s Victoria Docks. The phased development will begin with a wakeboarding facility and pontoons before expanding with a ‘high-wire water challenge’ at a later date. Outlining their design Aim remarked: “Durable Siberian Larch from timber supply Industry leaders, Russwood is proposed for the Foxlake enclosing screen. The larch product is factory finished in a three coat application providing up to ten years protection before signs of fading will require further coatings.
“The screen branding is either surface mounted aluminium di-bond channels cut and bonded to the timber or stencil applied spray coating using the same paint product applied in the factory.
“The PortaKabins are finished white and will be wrapped.”
Occupying a sliver of vacant quayside offering uninterrupted views for spectators the 130sq/m facility will take the form of three modular portacabins decked out in black & white livery in reference to Foxlake’s own branding, HM Frigate Unicorn and the Royal Navy’s famous ‘dazzle’ camouflage.

I really like the design here. Also like that Dundee is making the most of its strengths, like design in various forms from gaming to advertising, etc.
