Dornoch Sports Centre proposal brought forward
February 8 2017
Highland Council have advanced plans to erect a sports centre within the grounds of Dornoch Academy, furnishing the school with a four-court sports hall and equipment store. The steel frame structure will be faced with pre-cast concrete and Siberian Larch weatherboarding and translucent panels accessible from a new car park in front of the existing nursery.
In a statement The Highland Council’s development and infrastructure services department said: “A Viewing Area for the sports hall has the flexibility of being utilised as a Community Resource Area either as a separate room or being fully opened up to the lobby area by the incorporation of movable wall panels. The changing rooms have a direct relationship with the MUGA and have an external boot changing area incorporated.”
An entrance area will be built with capacity to allow addition of a 150sq/m fitness suite should funding be forthcoming.
