Cocktails at the Lansdowne

Planning permission to convert part of Lansdowne Parish Church into a bar, restaurant, community hall and viewing gallery has been granted to Four Acres Charitable Trust.
The trust also runs Cottiers in Glasgow's West End, another church conversion.
"Getting planning permission marks a big milestone and we will now talk to the planning authority about the phasing of the project," saidproject director David Robertson.
The church was constructed in 1863, and it is understood that new bistro will be at ground-floor level with an entrance directly under the spire.
RIAS's Neil Baxter said: "This building has to be among Glasgow's most important archaeological highlights and now a positive future has been created for it."
