Cults apartments to take place of former nurses home
Fitzgerald + Associates have drawn up plans for four apartments on the site of a detached property off Aberdeen’s North Deeside Road.

The contemporary clay brick solution will present large windows and a feature stair to the main road with expressed feature panels and string bands to articulate the facades. Dark grey cladding panels will be employed for side elevations.

In their design statement the architects observed: “Our design approach in relation to this site location, presented an opportunity to provide a strong identity that would contrast with the neighbouring property but complement a library and learning centre to the east. Given the mix of styles surrounding the site it was difficult to ascertain a particular 'style' but after more detailed design analysis a modern contemporary design became the apparent solution to maximise the potential of the site.”

South facing balconies will overlook gardens to the rear.

Although I don't know what the visualisation was created for it. It really isn't selling the design, 15 mins with some crayons would have yielded a better result.

I feel very nostalgic. This illustration reminds me of the CAD software I used thirty years ago. It's like seeing a pair of leg warmers, or an old Kajagoogoo CD.

Bit of a bizarre application this.
4 x 1 bedroom flats, each of 108sqm plus balcony.
Is there a demand for this in Aberdeen?
Having a look at the plans...1 bedroom flats have ensuites and oodles of space. For that GIFA they could be 3 bedroom flats!
Yet both baths in the properties are in front of windows. Does that even comply with building regs?
Where is the bin store?
Why is the bike store down steps?
According to my boss this needs an architect's eye to sort this out.
