Highland Club pushes ahead with office expansion
Aberfeldy based Fearn MacPherson chartered architects have prepared plans to extend the Loch Rannoch Highland Club at Kinloch Rannoch, Perthshire, following acquisition of a former doctor’s surgery.

This will allow an extension to be built to the north and rear of the current offices, enabling an expanded reception area to be offered and staff facilities to be offered.

In a statement the architects observed: “The proposed extension is ‘L’ shaped in plan form with an external patio area. The extension throughout is single storey as well as matching the existing floor levels. The proposed design has traditional features, materials and proportions which are appropriate to the rural setting and sensitive to the existing building.

“This includes a 42-degree tiled roof to match the existing, a stone constructed wall to highlight the entrance and the remaining walls of the building being clad in timber to blend in with the natural setting. The extension is orientated and rooms within positioned to take advantages of the views to the West towards the hills and with the main entrance door facing into the arrival carpark.”

Proof that it's often better not to attempt a visualisation at all. Well-presented 2D plans and elevations would do a much better job of selling this. It looks like a haunted Lego house.
