Whisky galore in Jedburgh as Simpson & Brown distillery wins go-ahead
December 8 2016
A £40m whisky distillery near Jedburgh has secured the approval of Scottish Borders Council, who have given the green light for work to begin on the Simpson & Brown designed production facility.Alongside the whisky plant Mossburn Distillers aim to build a visitor centre and 200-seat restaurant on land at the former Jedforest Hotel, Camptown.
A phased development plan calls for the creation of a small-scale operation as early as 2018 before ramping up production in a more ambitious industrial facility which could be operational by 2021.
Jedburgh is the latest in a long line of distilleries to progress in recent years, with work already underway on a rival distillery in the centre of Hawick. Separate schemes are also planned for Holyrood Park, Edinburgh; Queen’s Dock, Glasgow and the Isle of Arran.

Looks great. Let's hope the clients commit themselves all the way and there is no watering down of the product ---namely the design integrity and quality.
