Kenneth Reid Architects have put together proposals for replacement of an existing mechanics garage at Thirlstane Lane, Edinburgh, with three homes on behalf of JNL Property Investments.

Comprising a single one-bed flat together with two studio apartments arranged over three levels on a constrained site of just 81sq/m the scheme will adopt sandstone cladding to tie-in with adjoining tenements.

Located in the popular Morningside district of the city the scheme will include a mesh stair court rising the height of the development.
The ground floor flat will be the larger of the three, stretching to 52sq/m and incorporating two bathrooms as well as a lounge/kitchen/diner.
