Skypark double-up on ambitious expansion plans
Skypark Unit Trust are to press ahead with the latest phase of expansion at their Finnieston office complex in Glasgow with the submission of plans drawn up by Sheppard Robson for two new buildings on the campus

Situated on land bounded by Elliot, Cranston and Park Street’s this will see the previously consented Azure building moved south to abut the Clydeside Expressway and provide space for a second structure, offering 80,000sq/ft of grade A office space, to be built to its north.

In their design statement the architects observed: “To allow the site proposal to include two buildings, whilst retaining a high proportion of associated landscaping the larger of the 2 developments, Office Building ‘1’ required to be moved southward towards the Clydeside Expressway, thus retaining the buildings design ethos, to provide panoramic views South-East across the city from each floor plate.

“The site location of Building ‘2’ has been developed through an indepth study into the reduction of overshadowing to the residential block on Cranston Street.”

Both seven storey blocks will incorporate undercroft parking and share a public entrance plaza.

It's great that the area is getting more nice sized buildings to fill the gap sites, etc, around there but it'd be better if the design could be a bit bolder.
Still the area definitely could use more development, so good in that sense.

One of the best things about Skypark is the activity and buzz on the ground floor foyer, its a shame these are completely separate entities

The 285k sq/f of proposed space skypark were already idly sitting on wasn't enough, apparently.
