City of Glasgow College makes Stirling Prize shortlist
July 14 2016
City of Glasgow College Riverside Campus by Michael Laird and Reiach & Hall Architects has been named in a shortlist of six entries for this year’s Stirling Prize. The UK’s premier architectural award is dominated by further education buildings this year with the Glasgow campus going up against two buildings at the University of Oxford – the Blavatnik School of Government and the restored Weston Library.
An ambitious redevelopment of the Heygate Estate, a new gallery for artist Damien Hirst in Vauxhall and a private house within the Forest of Dean round out the half dozen nominees.
RIBA president Jane Duncan commented: “This shortlist reflects everything that is great about UK architecture – a blend of experimental, artistic vision and a commitment to changing people’s lives for the better.”
Each nominee will be left on tenterhooks until 6 October when the winner is announced.

Huge fan of that development, I deserves all the praise it gets, imo. Would love to see a bit more of this around tha area, have a nice cluster of mid rises by the Clyde heading into the Gorbals.

@ #1 - I couldn't be any more polarised in my opinion to your own.
That said - a hearty congratulation to all those involved, a lot of hard work no doubt!
But as I say - bland and banal is what I see :(
